Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill was carted off with a left knee injury in the second half of the team’s game against the New York Jets on Monday night.
Hill made a 10-yard catch on third down and was beginning to fall out of bounds when his left leg appeared to suffer some type of dislocation from the knee downward.
Hill stayed on the ground after he hit the field and was immediately attended to by Jets trainers. Players began to take a knee around Hill once it was apparent how serious the injury was.
Per the broadcast, Hill’s leg was stabilized before he was carted off the field. As he was being taken off, he tried to rally the crowd.
Hill was taken to a hospital for imaging, evaluation and observation, per the team.
Acquired from the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022, Hill is in his fourth season with Miami.
He posted back-to-back seasons of 119 receptions and over 1,700 yards in 2022 and 2023, before he had the third-lowest receiving total of his career last season. Entering Monday’s game, he had 15 catches for 198 yards for the 0-3 Dolphins.
After Miami’s slow start to the season, Hill, 31, had become the subject of trade speculation. Interest in him reportedly declined after he was accused of domestic violence in a court filing by his estranged wife in their divorce case.
Hill is in the second year of a three-year, $90 million contract extension he signed with Miami last year.
