The professional dancer has impressed
Lauren Oakley has taken fans by surprise as the Strictly Come Dancing revealed her talents stretch beyond those seen in the dance floor in the famous ballroom.
The professional dancer has been part of the hit dance show since 2022 and those who follow the BBC One dance contest know that Lauren was recently seen participating in the show’s 2025 series, having signed up for another year as a professional dancer.
She was seen competing in the 23rd edition of the competition alongside former footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasslebaink, which comes after she missed out on a celebrity partner in 2024 before she was drafted in to take over from Amy Dowden and team up with JLS star JB Gill, who she went on to help to the final.
Now, weeks on from the end of Strictly’s 2025 series and Lauren is currently touring the country alongside a number of her Strictly co-stars. She and Jimmy are among the couples performing in the Strictly Come Dancing Live 2026 tour, which is currently visiting arenas in a city near you.
They were announced back in December as taking part alongside Lewis Cope and Katya Jones, George Clarke and Alexis Warr, and returning star Layton Williams, who is performing alongside former dance partner Nikita Kuzmin.
They are joined by series couples Vicky Pattison and Kai Widdrington, Ellie Goldstein and Vito Coppola, Harry Aikines-Aryeety and Karen Hauer and La Voix and Aljaž Škorjanec, plus, the legendary Strictly Judges Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, and Craig Revel Horwood, and tour host Janette Manrara.
But amid a break from performing for audiences across the country, Lauren took some time for a solo performance, but this time she wasn’t dancing and was instead showing off her singing voice. Alongside a video on Instagram, she shared: “Trying to sing ‘A Couple Minutes’ by Olivia Dean. I love singing. My husband loves this song. Few bum notes, not pitch perfect. But here we are in 2026 doing things cause we wanna!”
And it didn’t take long for the compliments to come flooding in. @giovanni_pernice_the_showman said: “Well done Lauren your singing is beautiful.” @amygeorginaaa commented: “Sorry Lauren, I didn’t realise you was a triple threat!!!” @lauramary__x replied: “You have an incredible voice.”
