LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Thursday and Friday are First Alert Weather Days as monsoon moisture funneling into the region brings increasing chances for afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Highs will also be below normal both days.
Increasing monsoon moisture will bring the chance for thunderstorms Thursday through Saturday. Thunderstorm chances pick up Thursday afternoon to evening, with even better chances on Friday. Please note, thunderstorms bring about the concern of heavy rainfall that could produce flash flooding, along with gusty outflow wind (potentially exceeding 50 mph wind speeds).
With the increased moisture over the region, the workweek will end with higher humidity levels as temperatures also cool to a forecast high of 96° in Las Vegas on Thursday and 98° on Friday. The normal high temperature this time of year is 105°.
A slight chance for storms remains in the forecast for Saturday, before drier conditions move into the region early next week.
Triple-digit heat also returns to the region by Saturday.
