Police are investigating after a woman’s body was discovered outside a cafe and apartment complex in the heart of Joondalup’s CBD.
“At this time, it is believed the woman was left at the scene by a male person, the circumstances of which are being investigated,” WA Police said in a statement.
Police say they received a report from paramedics about 9.45am on Wednesday that a woman’s body had been found on Grand Boulevard.
The cafe next to where the woman’s body was found has shut early, with a note on the door saying it was closed to the public, but open to police and emergency services.
Detectives urge anyone with information, or who has CCTV or dash-cam vision from the area around the time of the incident, to contact them.
Joondalup is a major urban centre 28 kilometres north of Perth. The woman’s body was found a short walk from the entrance to a large shopping centre.
Police are expected to hold a press conference at 2:30pm local time.
