I have been covering this show for the better part of a decade and am well-versed in its lore and parlance. This popular reality show, responsible for 11 marriages and close to 30 children, is a mainstay on Aussie television. One of its alumni, Farmer David and Emily McMahon, joined us on The Australian Women’s Weekly Love Stories podcast to talk all about their time on the show. And they brought along their 8-week-old daughter, Willa! Watch the episode here.
If you missed episode six of the 2026 Farmer Wants A Wife season, you missed a dramatic exit! So allow me to recap it for you, but beware, serious spoilers lie ahead…
SPOILERS ahead!
Episode 7
Things kicked off at Zac’s farm, with everyone debriefing the morning after Miranda’s elimination. And by debriefing, I mean bitching. I actually had to go pop the kettle on just to get away from the TV for a moment because I became so mad watching this opening scene.
Yes, Miranda’s gone. So, let’s move on and not say mean things about her behind her back, shall we? I guess not. I swear this is the last time I’ll defend Miranda, but she was built up to be this big bad villain when, at best, she was a confident, slightly cocky woman and seeing everyone bad-mouth her the morning after she left just further cemented my opinion that no one on Zac’s farm (Zac included) is mature enough for a long-term relationship. Anyway, moving on.
Host Natalie Gruzlewski dropped the bomb that all the farmers must go on a date with a potential intruder who was handpicked by one of their loved ones. And after the date, each farmer can decide whether to bring the intruder back to the farm or to politely say, ‘No thanks, I’m happy with my women at home.’
Upon hearing the news, all of the ladies were visibly (and understandably) shaken at the thought of yet another person coming in to compete for their farmer’s attention.
And Ally on Dylan’s farm exclaimed, “She got a date before Renae?!,”, taking the literal thought out of my head. Poor Renae.

First up for the intruder date was Zac. His mum, Lara, chose Asha – a 23-year-old pilates instructor from Mount Gambia.
And in sad news for Grace, Maya and Mieke, Asha has beaten them to getting the tick of approval from Zac’s mum. Literally.
“She’s ticked all of my boxes,” Lara told producers.
Zac was definitely interested. After the two went for a boat ride and enjoyed a nice picnic, he admitted:
“Ash is definitely a cutie, and she’s got that attractive personality there as well.”
But back at the farm, Maya told Grace and Mieke that if Zac brings the intruder (who we now know is Asha) back to the farm, she’ll probably leave.
For Jason’s intruder date, his sister Ashley chose Kimberley. The steel machine operator is 35-years-old and the proud owner of two border collies.
And in a cute twist of fate, it turned out that Jason and Kimberley had already met online a few years ago. In a Farmer Wants A Wife fan group of all places. They apparently chatted for a while, but Kimberley wasn’t ready for love back then. So things eventually fizzled out before the two could meet face-to-face.

On their date, Kimberley acknowledged all this but then confessed she is ready to commit now, hence why she applied for FWAW. Could this be destiny bringing Jason and Kimberley back together?
The next intruder date was Farmer Alex’s. His mum, Susie, picked Madison, a 29-year-old naturopath student.
“She’s delightful, and I think she’d fit in perfectly with Alex’s lifestyle,” Susie gushed to producers. Watch out, Eddy!
The two went for a hike and then enjoyed a picnic together at the peak. And Alex immediately got down to business. “When was your last serious relationship?” he asked Madison.
Meanwhile, Eddy and Suzannah said they were confident the intruder would come back to the farm. I found it interesting that Eddy thought this; I don’t think she’s realised how in love Alex is with her…
For Dylan, his Nana Kay (who appeared in episode two) chose Keeley for the intruder date.
The 23-year-old hails from Brisbane and works in marketing. Oh, and she’s a horse girl. A big plus in Dylan’s eyes. Seriously, the two bonded over horse riding and their love of horses immediately.
And when Keeley shared that her family have long attended rodeos and her dream in life is to road trip around America and attend rodeos over there, Dylan’s eyes practically bugged out of his head like the Tex Avery wolf. Awooga.

For the last intruder date, Jarrad’s close friend Rachel chose Christina. She’s a 36-year-old writer who can work flexible hours from anywhere and clearly has a penchant for fashion. Ah, Carrie Bradshaw, is that you?
During the date, Jarrad and Christina bonded over wanting to find someone who makes the little things in life wonderful. “I want someone who makes the kitchen fun,” Christina said. What a lovely sentiment!
Sadly, Jarrad (whom I’ve personally not been too fond of since the first episode) had to ruin the wholesome-ness. While the two were in a hot tub, he asked Christina, “Do you wanna hug?”
The whole thing reeked of a seasoned player knowing that an innocent hug in a hot tub would lead to her sitting on his lap and making out with him. Which is exactly what happened.
Flash forward to dinner time, and all the ladies were anxiously waiting to see if their farmer would turn up with an intruder.
Just before Dylan arrived back at his farm, Renae (whom I’ve been rooting for all season to no avail) opened up to Ally and Scarlett.
“It’s really hard for me to think that the new girl has had a longer date than I have with Dylan, and I have been here for a long time, and I’ve been waiting for a long time. And it’s a bit heartbreaking for me to think about it,” she said.
Poor Renae. Please, Dylan, I’m begging you, take this girl on a date! I can tell she’s your soulmate. Although the more I see Dylan ignore her, the more I’m starting to think Renae can do (and deserves) better… I digress.
Ultimately, Dylan decided to bring Keeley back to the farm. “Keeley’s everything I asked for… She’s got everything I’ve been looking for,” he explained to producers.
When they arrived, the tension was palpable. Dylan singled Scarlett out even though Ally and Renae also went dead silent upon his and Keeley’s arrival and said, “You’re a bit quiet, Scarlett.”
“Yeah, I’m just sad,” she replied.
Ally was quick to then pull Dylan aside. “I think at the end of the day, I want you to do what’s best for you… [But] as soon as I feel like you’re putting me on the backbench, I will walk away because I don’t muck around.”

Essentially, to say the women were unhappy with Dylan would be an understatement.
Over on Alex’s farm, he returned solo. I was not surprised in the slightest. He’s been sweet on Eddy since day one. JUST PROPOSE ALREADY and put Suzannah and Rachel out of their misery.
As for Zac, he decided to bring Asha back to his farm. She received a much nicer welcome than Keeley did on Dylan’s farm; Grace, Maya and Mieke immediately jumped up to hug her and started chatting away.
But once Asha got settled, Maya pulled Zac aside. She quickly started crying and confessed that she’s been “struggling” for the past few days.
“I just need to know whether you can actually see something romantic [between us] or if you see us as good mates who get on really well.”
Zac then replied, “I’ve got a bit to say. I know the past couple of days have been not the easiest, especially for you, with everything that went on with the footy club. But how you handled it and how you spoke. Like, you were so calm and my perfect person. I just can’t do that confrontation. I think everything you did and said was absolutely beautiful, and from that moment on, I was like, ‘I know I want Maya to stay around.’”
All I gleaned from this admission was that Zac has no idea that Grace and Maya actually caused the whole drama with Miranda. Yes, I know I started this recap with, “Let’s move on,” But I’m sorry, I think Miranda was given really unfair treatment. And yes, I know I’m in the minority here!
But no matter your opinion on the whole Miranda drama, you have to admit that none of Zac’s women – let alone Zac himself – seems mature enough for a serious, genuine relationship with all of the high-school-like antics that have been going on.
On Jarrad’s farm, he arrived home with Christina. And boy, did she receive a frosty welcome from Carly, Yvonne and Brodie.
Jarrad quickly went to make some tea, and Yvonne took the opportunity to boldly ask Christina if she had kissed Jarrad during their date. She admitted after a slight pause, “Yes.”
And if looks could kill, Christina would be dead.
Carly later told producers, “It leaves me, I guess, in a position where I really need to observe his character and who he is and whether that’s what I want.” I really like Carly and am glad she’s realising Jarrad has some red flags.
When the almond farmer returned to the living room, he sat down, sipped his tea and then laughed.
“What’s funny, Jarrad?” Carly asked.
“Just, it’s very awkward, isn’t it?”
…
Yvonne frowned and shook her head at this response. And I have to agree. Don’t laugh, you’ve just upset three women who have feelings for you. Every episode, I feel more and more vindicated in my instant dislike of Jarrad.

And later on, Yvonne voiced my thoughts perfectly to Carly and Brodie:
“[Christina] apologised and acknowledged it’s an awkward and sh*tty situation. But he sat there f**king laughing. What’s funny? Who are you to sit there and laugh when you know what the situation is? There are people who have developed feelings for you, and you’re gonna sit there and, ‘Ha ha, it’s awkward.’ [BLEEP].”
I can only assume she said “Shut the f**k up” Or “F**k him”, and I have to say, right on, Yvonne.
Finally, at the very end of episode seven, Jason returned to his farm with Kimberley in tow. Another frosty reception was had; Logan and Poppy were clearly displeased with the dairy farmer.
Kimberley was quick to say, “I know it’s a bit uncomfortable watching somebody else come in, and I’m not going to force anything and let things play out naturally.”
Logan and Poppy were a little bit rude in my opinion, and just didn’t reply to poor Kimberley. Eventually, Poppy remembered her manners and broke the silence by offering to show Kimberley to her room.
But this allowed Jason and Logan to hash things out. He explained that he still wants to explore his connection with her and Poppy, but felt a new connection with Kimberley too. Logan ended up leaving for some ‘fresh air’, but knowing she was still upset, Jason followed. Logan was crying, and the episode ended (a little abruptly) with her telling Jason, “I just don’t like this at all.”
And that was our spoilers-heavy recap of seven of Farmer Wants A Wife 2026! Stay tuned for more recaps and new episodes that air on Monday, Tuesday and Sunday nights on Channel 7 and 7now.
