26 clubs are now chasing the signature of Birmingham City target Kwame Poku.
The staggering pursuit of Peterborough United’s forward was revealed by Posh director of football Barry Fry.

The bubbly octogenarian spoke over the weekend as the feverish activity around the 23-year-old refused to go away.
Fry said:
The last time I heard, there were 26 clubs in for him.
I’m not surprised. The kid has what it takes to reach the Premier League.
We have developed him over the past four years to the point where he is ready to take the next step in his career.
Fry is hopeful that Posh will receive compensation for the forward.
However, that will only happen if he stays in this country – should he be the subject of a cross-border transfer – then he will be able to quit for a fraction of the price that the League One club would have received via a tribunal.
Birmingham City, Sunderland and Sheffield United are among those who have registered an interest in the forward.

And Brum’s director of football Craig Gardner has already pitched his club’s offer to the player and his agent via Zoom.
But Sunderland’s elevation to the top-flight has given them additional financial firepower should they wish to raise the stakes.
However, Fry fears that Posh may miss out on the big money because his agent has strong connections abroad.
Celtic and Rangers in Strong Position to Sign Poku

Celtic and Rangers have both watched Poku extensively this season – and a switch to either of those clubs – as revealed previously by GIVEMESPORT – would trigger UEFA’s compensation payout.
Posh’s director of football also revealed that the player’s representatives also have connections with Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.
The young Argentine has long been linked with a move away from Old Trafford and those links could come into play now with Poku.
