EastEnders is set to start a fresh romance for Linda Carter as a new character arrives on the Square. Earlier this month, it was announced that former Casualty star Jason Durr was joining the show for a guest stint as a local councillor named Clive Masters, who strikes up a friendship with Linda.
Over recent weeks, Linda has organised a salsa dancing lesson at the community centre as a sober activity for Walford residents.
In scenes set to air next week, the lesson doesn’t go to plan, but the silver lining is the instant spark between Linda and Clive.

Worried that the community centre is going to shut down, Linda turns to Ian for advice. Ian arranges for councillor Clive to speak with Linda, and it’s clear that Linda is attracted to him.
Linda rallies the women of Walford to discuss ways of saving the community centre, and she’s delighted when Clive arrives to help.
Later, after sensing the chemistry between Clive and Linda, Elaine decides she wants to play matchmaker.
“Linda’s quest to save the community centre brings newcomer Clive into her life – and the pair hit it off straight away!” said our EastEnders insider.
“Sparks are flying, and Linda’s brief reunion with Max feels like a million years away at this point. Elaine spots the chemistry and tries to play matchmaker, but will she be successful?”

Previously speaking about joining the soap, Durr said: “Few shows command their place in the national conversation quite like EastEnders, so I’m delighted to be joining the cast as Clive Masters. Working with the wonderful Kellie Bright has been an absolute joy and pleasure from day one.”
“All the cast, crew, and production staff have been incredibly generous, welcoming, and good-humoured. I’m excited for audiences to meet Clive and see what’s in store.”
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
