Smoke gradually improves Sunday, Monday

The smoke is finally starting to clear out of the Twin Cities. The air quality is still unhealthy Saturday evening across northern Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. As south winds continue to blow tonight, the smoke will keep moving north as we go into Sunday.

The Air Quality Alert continues across all of Minnesota Sunday through noon Monday. The smoke will not be unhealthy for everyone, but those with chronic respiratory or heart issues will still feel an impact from a little smoke in the air.

The south winds will also bring in warmer air and a little more humidity with each passing day. Storms begin across far western Minnesota on Sunday. One round is possible in the morning, and more in the late afternoon and evening. Gradually, those rain chances move east through the first half of the week. The Twin Cities will see their first rain in a week by Tuesday or Wednesday.
