A Lactantia-branded milk product is being recalled and removed from store shelves across Canada due to an excessive amount of vitamins
In a recall notice issued by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) UltraPūr 2% M.F. Lactose-Free Dairy Product was recalled due to a over fortification of vitamins A and D.
The recall was initiated by Lactantia. No illnesses have been reported in connection with the product.
“Do not consume, serve, use, sell or distribute recalled products,” The CFIA said in a statement. “Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased.”
Health Canada advises anyone who believes they became ill after consuming the recalled product to contact a health-care provider.
