Richard Gere is 76 today!

The actor, who had us all swooning with his roles in Pretty Woman, Runaway Bride, Chicago and more, lives a rather quiet life when he’s not working.

Gere has been married to Spanish activist Alejandra Silva since 2018. The couple knew each other for years before dating, as Gere had been a family friend. Things turned romantic in 2014, and though they did long distance early in their relationship, Silva ultimately moved to New York to be closer to the actor.

The couple has since welcomed two kids together, sons Alexander, 5, and James, 4, who joined older brothers Homer James, 25 — whom Gere welcomed with ex-wife Carey Lowell — as well as Alejandra’s son Albert, from a previous relationship.

In 2024, Richard and Alejandra relocated their family to her home country of Spain.

“For Alejandra, it will be wonderful to be closer to her family, her lifelong friends and her culture,” he told Vanity Fair Spain of the move. “She was very generous in giving me six years living in my world, so it is only fair that I give her at least another six living in hers.”

In March, she shared a carousel of family photos — including the heartwarming pic above — celebrating the actor for his first Spanish Father’s Day.
