Severe thunderstorm warning issued for part of southeast Wisconsin

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Kenosha, Milwaukee and Racine counties until 2:45 p.m. A warning for Waukesha County expires at 2:30 p.m. Winds are the main threat at 60 mph. There is also a swim risk today with 3 to 5 foot Lake Michigan waves. Several beaches are closed today, including Bradford and McKinley beaches.An Air Quality Advisory is in effect until noon Wednesday. This is for all of southeast Wisconsin. The smoke is still aloft right now, but is being pushed to the surface from the cold front in the Northwoods. This will happen this evening, WeatherWatch 12 Meteorologist Lindsey Slater said.
