WESLEY FOFANA has deleted all traces of Chelsea from his Instagram account.
The Frenchman, who has been plagued by injuries since moving to Stamford Bridge, was named as a substitute for their Prem opener against Crystal Palace last Sunday.
Boss Enzo Maresca instead opted to pick youngster Josh Acheampong alongside Trevoh Chalobah at centre-back.
Fofana, 24, has since removed all references to Chelsea from his Instagram account – an action he also took when he wanted to leave Leicester in 2022.
At the time he cryptically posted a message in French to his Insta story.
It read: “My father told me you’re going to annoy a lot of people when you start doing what’s best for you and I’ve begun to realise it.”
Chelsea were recently rocked by the ACL injury suffered by key defender Levi Colwill during their short pre-season.
Maresca has made no secret of the fact that he wants to sign a new centre-back before the transfer deadline.
And when asked if Fofana could perform the role, his manager said last week: “Wes played 45 minutes in that position.
“It was the first half against Bournemouth away. Probably one of the worst halves since we started.”

The Blues actually went on to win that clash 1-0, although Fofana moved to right-back during the second-half when Tosin Adarabioyo replaced Axel Disasi.
Fofana did not play a single game under former boss Mauricio Pochettino due to a serious injury.
The one-cap France international was limited to just 14 Premier League appearances last term as he suffered with a serious hamstring issue.
Having begun the season at centre-back, Fofana briefly returned to fitness to play at right-back in March, before requiring another operation.
