Madrid, Spain- May 1, 2023: Tennis match between Jessica Peluga and Veronika Kudermetova at the Mutua Madrid Open in Madrid. Women’s tennis.

As the Madrid Open reaches its latter stages, the action at Park Manzanares in the Spanish capital is heating up. We have some tasty quarter-finals from the women’s tournament to look forward to this Wednesday, including the Karolina Pliskova – Anastasia Potapova battle.

Odds taken from PricedUp at 9:03 UK Time on 29 April, 2026.

Marta Kostyuk vs. Linda Noskova – Ukrainian to Edge Entertaining Quarter

Marta Kostyuk and Linda Noskova lock horns for a place in the WTA Madrid semi-finals. The pair are tough to split on paper, though Kostyuk is the bookies’ favourite before a ball has been struck in anger, priced at 8/15 to go through.

It has been a fine 2026 for Kostyuk, with the 23-year-old picking up her second WTA singles title at the Open de Rouen earlier in the month. The victory for the Ukrainian has set her up nicely for a crack at the Madrid Open title.

Noskova, who only turned 21 last November, has been making waves on the WTA Tour. The young Czech became the youngest player to reach the top 50 in February 2023 and is currently ranked 12th in the world.

In 2024, Noskova won her first WTA singles title, defeating Lulu Sun to come out on top at the Monterrey Open in Mexico. She would love to get her hands on another trophy this weekend in Madrid, but edging out Kostyuk will be a tall order.

This all-action quarter-final could go either way, but Kostyuk’s extra experience could get the Ukrainian over the line. We can see the scoreline being close, and PricedUp’s solid tennis odds of 3/1 for Kostyuk to win by two sets to one is a standout bet.

Our Prediction: Marta Kostyuk to Win 2-1 – 3/1

Karolina Pliskova vs Anastasia Potapova – Lucky Loser to Reach Semi-Finals

Pliskova is hoping to keep her Madrid Open dreams alive with a win against Potapova this Wednesday. This promises to be another fascinating quarter-final in Spain’s capital, but who will book their place in the semi-finals at Caja Magica?

Pliskova has all the experience in the world at 34, reaching two Grand Slam finals and winning a host of singles titles. The Czech star even reached world No. 1 status in 2017. Her best years may be behind her, but Pliskova remains a threat on the biggest stage.

Potapova became the first lucky loser to reach a Madrid quarter since the start of the women’s event in 2009. The Russian-born Austrian professional has bounced back in style, seeing off Zhang Shuai and Jelena Ostapenko before stunning Elena Rybakina to reach the last eight.

Potapova has picked up three career titles and reached 21st in the world in 2023. However, injuries and consistency issues have halted her momentum in recent times, and the 25-year-old has dropped down to 97th in the rankings as a result.

Potapova’s form has picked up in 2026, losing to world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the third round of the 2026 Australian Open and reaching the Linz Open final. Can she keep up her improved form and book her place in another WTA singles semi-final?

Looking at the latest tennis betting odds, Potapova is the favourite at 4/7. Pliskova has done exceptionally well to get this far, and she is available at 27/20 to win the match.

Wednesday’s quarter-final showdown in Spain’s capital is a tough one to call, as both players are capable of putting on a show for the watching public. Potapova has the momentum, while Pliskova has experience on her side. No matter who wins, we fancy this last-eight clash to be a cracker.

Pliskova will no doubt play her part, but we are backing Potapova to come out on top and secure a spot in the last four. Again, the 2-1 scoreline (17/4) stands out.

Our Prediction: Anastasia Potapova to Win 2-1 – 17/4
