They’ve got the outnumber as Tom Lynch nudges Tom Barrass under the footy and gets set to take a mark inside the goalsquare, but he’s spoilt by his teammate as Steely Green comes in from the side to try and take the mark himself.

Patrick Retschko misses a set shot from directly in front 45m out from goal shortly afterwards and the Tigers are now 0.3 for the afternoon.

Mitch Lewis has two goals in the first quarter after a wonderful snap in heavy traffic!

Good work in the lead-up from Ollie Greaves, as he spun out of a tackle before dishing off a handball.

The Hawks have high hopes for Greaves, who was highly thought of as a junior, but slipped badly on draft night last year.

More smooth transition play from the Hawks here as they string a series of handballs together before Connor Macdonald finds Mitch Lewis on a short lead.

Lewis drills the set shot from 40m out on a tricky angle.

Things going very smoothly so far for the Hawks. They’ve got 52 disposals to Richmond’s 33.

Nick Watson is on the board early as he drills a set shot beautifully on a slight angle.

Lovely synergy between Jack Gunston, Jack Ginnivan and Watson there as Gunston and Ginnivan essentially acted as decoys, creating the space for Watson to lead into.

You don’t see that sort of stuff enough unfortunately. That’s the sign of a really good team that’s on the same page.

Hawthorn has Richmond pinned into its own defensive half right now.

Richmond’s mid-season draftee Kye Annand with a big one-on-one win after Josh Weddle sent a long ball inside 50 towards Mitch Lewis.

The inside 50 count reads 5-1 Hawthorn’s way.

Prestia is one of the few remaining players from Richmond’s three premierships and he’s gone from being a bullocking star midfielder on those teams to the old head now as he guides the young bucks around him.

Really the perfect timing in his career when he joined Richmond at the end of 2016, leaving a downtrodden Gold Coast side to walk into a team that was about to win and win big.

Prestia has played 155 of his 250 career matches in Richmond colours.

Both Richmond and Hawthorn will line up as originally selected this afternoon at the MCG.

Some big ins for the Tigers from last week’s side as Sam Lalor, Jayden Short and Steely Green replace Ben Miller, Jasper Alger and Zane Peucker.

Hawthorn has also made three changes from last week’s side with Josh Weddle, Josh Battle and Nick Watson replacing Karl Amon, Will Day and Matt Hill.

The second match of the day is a blockbuster with huge finals implications as Gold Coast hosts the Western Bulldogs at Carrara Stadium from 3:15pm.

Then Round 19’s finale takes place at Docklands stadium where Essendon takes on the GWS Giants from 4:40pm.
