LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers will continue to celebrate their 2025 World Series championship with a trip to the White House on July 23, the team announced on Thursday.
“Honestly, like I’ve always said — my company line, my personal line — is I hope that we get this invitation every year, because that’s the goal, to win a championship, to get this invitation to the White House,” manager Dave Roberts said Friday.
The Dodgers visited the White House following their World Series titles in 2020 and 2024.
“As was the case one year ago, the Dodgers’ upcoming visits to the White House and Capitol Hill follow the longtime tradition of visits by other World Series champions. We appreciate these tributes in recognition of our back-to-back championships,” the team said in a statement.
The Dodgers were originally scheduled to visit the White House in early April during a series against the Nationals, but the stop was delayed due to scheduling. L.A. will instead return to D.C. during an off-day between series in Philadelphia and New York.
“President Trump is excited to welcome the Los Angeles Dodgers BACK to the White House to celebrate their World Series championship!” White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers wrote in a statement to the California Post.
The custom of World Series victors visiting the White House dates back to 1869, when the Cincinnati Red Stockings became the first professional team to visit the White House under President Ulysses S. Grant.
