Edmonton Oilers pushing hard to do what they’ve never done before with new Euro goalies

The Oilers have drafted 11 goalies from Europe over the years. One of them, Jussi Markanen, was drafted 133rd overall in 2021, but he was singed that same year out of Finland as a 26-year-old veteran. He was never developed by the Oilers but stepped right in as a veteran and made a major contribution. But he was essentially a veteran free agent signing, not a young draft-and-develop prospect.
