Tom Holland Addresses Zendaya Marriage Rumours for the First Time

In his new cover interview for the July/August issue of Esquire, Tom Holland has addressed his much-rumoured secret wedding to Zendaya for the first time.

Gossip has swirled around the couple ever since Zendaya flashed a diamond ring at the Golden Globes in January 2025, but the A-list couple, who have always been keenly protective of their privacy, haven’t spoken publicly about the union.

Others have addressed it, though – including Law Roach, Zendaya’s long-time stylist and friend, who told Access Hollywood in March: “The wedding has already happened. You missed it.” For her part, Zendaya offered a non-denial on Jimmy Kimmel, while discussing faked AI images that proliferated on social media.

Now, in a wide-ranging interview with Esquire culture editor Henry Wong, the Spider-Man: Brand New Day actor has finally provided some detail about the big day (and yes, it sounds like it’s definitely already happened).

When the phoney AI wedding photos of Tom popping Moët with his new bride on Lake Como started to spread across social media, racking up over 10 millions likes in the process, Holland explains that his grandmother saw them and thought she hadn’t been invited. When Esquire asked him if he was forced to send out similar messages to any other family members, he replied: “No, because they were all there.”

While Holland refused to be drawn on the day itself – “That’s all you’ll get on that” – he did open up about his relationship with “Zee” and the impact she’s had on his peace of mind.

“Our business can present very stressful situations and it’s really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time,” he told us. “We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it’s like to live this life, and I think that is such a luxury, because I just don’t understand how I would be able to have anything like that with anyone else.

“So, for me, I found my person. She’s my best friend, and I’m the happiest I have ever been when I’m with her, but I have also never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period.”

The pair met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016 – and elsewhere in the interview, he talks about his first impressions of Zendaya when she auditioned to play Peter Parker’s classmate, Michelle “MJ” Jones. “Obviously, I was super excited at the prospect of working with her and getting to know her. She smashed her audition out the park and got the part before she’d even left the room,” he told us.

“I remember when she closed the door to leave, [producer] Amy Pascal was immediately like, ‘Well, she’s getting the job.’”
