In their second NCAA Tournament, the Little Rock Trojans have won their first tournament game in school history after trampling the Rhode Island Rams 22-10.

The Trojans bounced back in a big way following their 7-0 lost in the opener of the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional on Friday.

The game started off in a stalemate before the Trojans opened the game up with 5 runs at the top of the 2nd.

The Rams tried to match them, but could only manage 3 runs at the bottom of the second.

From this point on, the Trojans never looked back, as they scored in every inning going forward besides the top of the 8th. It was the top of the 9th where the Trojans really pulled away, as they scored 7 runs to take a 22-10 lead.

Rhode Island didn’t have an answer for the Trojans, as they went scoreless in the bottom of the 9th.

Junior Angel Cano, who hit a three-run home run to put the Trojans up 15-8, went 4-6 with 7 RBI, while Junior Ty Rhoades and Redshirt Junior Sammy Harris both went 3-5. Sammy also added in a solo home run.

UALR will be back in action today at 2 p.m. to take on Dallas Baptist University from Baton Rouge.
