Graham Smyth explains how many more signings Leeds will make

Around the time that Okafor signed, it became clear that Leeds are also looking at wingers on both flanks. Okafor brings real pace, power, and directness to Leeds’ attack.

However, Leeds need creativity, as detailed by Graham Smyth. It’s been made clear that Farke wants a versatile creative player who can operate as a winger or who can play No.10.

The issue is, some fans are keen to add more than that, via another forward player. Smyth states he expects one more Leeds signing ahead of the transfer deadline — and Leeds may well have found that player.

Brighton’s Facundo Buonanotte and Leeds loan details

In terms of a profile which fits that description, Brighton’s Facundo Buonanotte could be it for Leeds. He is both creative and capable of scoring goals.

He has been mentioned by various sources lately. Leeds United News exclusively revealed Brighton’s stance on Buonanotte and that Leeds have ‘never left the table’ this summer, with interest in his signature throughout.

Buonanotte is not in Brighton’s plans after his return from Leicester City. Another report claimed Brighton prefer a loan to England as well this summer. Although there has been late Lyon interest in Leeds target Buonanotte.

Ben Jacobs then revealed West Ham United and Leeds were leading the Buonanotte race. Since then, the same reporter has detailed Leeds’ advanced talks with Brighton. LUN have since learned Buonanotte is heading for a medical today.

Illan Meslier’s Leeds situation takes two twists

Now the third-choice Leeds goalkeeper, Illan Meslier has to be in line for a move before the deadline. The writing is very much on the wall, with Meslier stripped of his Leeds shirt number for the start of the season.

It has been revealed that Leeds are said to be offering Meslier around for around £5-6 million in Europe. Now, Lorient want to re-sign Meslier as well after selling to Leeds in 2020.

Following reports of initial interest, Lorient’s manager has discussed the goalkeeper situation at the club. However, Meslier will have to take a pay cut at Lorient if he is to re-join.

The Lorient move may now be off the table for Meslier. However, as one door closes, another opens. Carlos Corberan and Valencia are said to have Meslier interest — alongside Rangers as well.
